William H. Craddock February 27, 2010
Mr. William H. Craddock, age 96, a former resident of Pantego and Belhaven died Saturday February 27, 2010 at the home of his daughter located in Roper, NC
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday March 1, 2010 at West Belhaven Church of Christ officiated by Edwin Long and Kent Gurganus. Burial will follow in Belhaven Community Cemetery. Richard Craddock, Chris Craddock, Daniel Rouse, Ethan Ayers, Josh Ayers and Jeremy Logan will serve as pallbearers and Matthew Clark will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Mr. Craddock was born in Beaufort County on December 13, 1913 son of the late Henry and Cora Pilgrim Craddock. He married the former Betty Solona Modlin who preceded him in death. He later married the former Dorcas Gray who survives. Mr. Craddock was a member of the CC Camp as a young teenager and later worked as a heavy equipment operator who at the time of his retirement was working with Armstrong Land Development. He was a member of West Belhaven Church of Christ.
Surviving along with Mr. Craddock’s wife Dorcas are two sons: Rayvon Craddock of Belhaven and Ronnie Craddock of Pinetown; two daughters: Brenda C. Oliver of Roper and Betty Sue Jameson of Bremerton, WA; a sister: Sarah Credle of Scranton; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; six step children and seventeen step grandchildren. Mr. Craddock was preceded in death by a daughter: Kay Stegner and three sons: Russell Craddock, William H. Craddock, Jr. and Glenn Thomas Craddock.
The family will receive friends Sunday February 28, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and at other times at the home of Mr. Craddock’s son Rayvon located at 307 Smith Shore Road, Belhaven, NC.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Children’s Miracle Network, P.O. Box 8369, Greenville, NC 27835-8369.
